Brian mcCormack, “Banana Bass”

Join us at Gallery on Main for a reception celebrating a retrospective exhibition of works by artist Brian McCormack, who passed away suddenly on March 9 of this year. Entitled Re-Strung, it features guitar sculptures uniquely and creatively made from repurposed found objects, which are also playable as musical instruments.

Admission is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served. We hope to see you there.

A musician as well as a visual artist, Brian McCormack had a long history and deep affection for musical instruments. He believed that an instrument not played is existentially tragic, due to the endless possibilities of its joyful potential. Says his wife Joan, “It is my hope that musicians, artists, and all those who view Brian's guitars will become inspired by his legacy of imaginative brilliance.”
